The DAB EsyBox is an integrated electronic water pressurization system for domestic and residential use. A self-priming multistage pump, inverter electronics, pressure and flow sensors, an expansion vessel and a cartridge check valve are built into one enclosure, so no additional components are required at installation. The inverter varies motor speed against demand to hold pressure constant as flow changes, and starts and stops the motor gradually rather than switching it.
The pump is rated to a maximum flow rate of 32 gpm and a maximum head of 213 ft (86 psi), with a maximum pressure of 115 psi. Constant pressure is settable from 15 to 85 psi. It primes from a suction depth of up to 26 ft. Settings and operating status are presented on a 1.5 by 2.7 inch adjustable high-resolution LCD. Inlet and outlet are 1 inch NPT and can be selected to suit the installation, so the unit mounts either vertically or horizontally in a fixed position, including in closed spaces without a high level of air exchange.
The motor is water-cooled rather than fan-cooled, which removes cooling-fan noise and allows installation in a recess; with the sound-damping ABS hull, the anti-vibration feet and the inverter electronics, DAB rates the unit at 45 dB under normal use. An expansion vessel of 1/4 gal is integrated into the system and is certified for drinking water. A technical compartment behind an access door reaches the rotor shaft, the vertical filling plug and the expansion tank, and houses the maintenance tools and user guide. The wireless system allows groups of up to 4 pumps and connection to other DAB devices such as E.SYLINK. Wetted components are technopolymer, AISI 303, 304 and 316 stainless steel, and nickel-plated brass inserts.
DAB specifies clean, non-viscous, non-aggressive, uncrystallized and chemically neutral liquid, free of solid or abrasive contaminants, and lists the system as suitable for potable water and for domestic gardening and irrigation. It must not be used to pump salt water, sewage, or inflammable, corrosive or explosive liquids such as petroleum, petrol or thinners, nor greases, oils or food products. No pipe is to be connected to the 1-1/4 inch mouth that houses the non-return valve. Where the system supplies domestic water, local regulations of the authority responsible for water resources apply.
